French Authorities Shut Down Fake Recruitment Site in Suspected Russian Disinformation Campaign
In a move to combat disinformation and safeguard national security, French authorities have taken down a counterfeit recruitment website allegedly designed to deceive citizens into enlisting in the conflict in Ukraine.
The site, which mimicked the official French army recruitment portal, targeted approximately 200,000 French individuals, with immigrants purportedly given priority.
Sources within the French government, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the operation to dismantle the fraudulent website was conducted by French services, although details regarding the nature of the operation remain undisclosed.
