Work at Poole College

Why did you decide to join Poole College?

I love the students and the opportunity I have to coach and teach them about career development.

What have you enjoyed most about your experience at Poole College?

I really enjoy watching the students grow, meeting with them, and educating them on professional development. I then had the distinct pleasure of seeing where they ended up in internships and full-time jobs and how successful they were. It’s extremely rewarding.

What advice would you give a staff member who has recently joined Poole College?

Make sure to get acclimated and get involved within the college. Ask questions when you need to because most everyone is open and extremely helpful!

Professional Accomplishments

What project that you completed at Poole are you most proud of?

Creating the undergraduate course of M120 professional development and career planning for the sophomore-level business students.

If you are involved in professional organizations, do you hold any leadership positions there or have you presented at professional conferences?

With NCACE, I have been on the executive board for almost 10 years and served as president, conference co-chair, professional development chair and more. I’m currently just a member with the hopes of giving newer professionals in the field opportunities to grow.

Life Outside of Poole

When you are not at Poole College, what do you enjoy doing for fun?

I love watching sports and when I’m not watching I’m taking my kids to their sports. With two boys, this includes a lot of youth soccer!

What do you consider as your greatest accomplishment outside of work?

Being a good mom. It’s such a generic answer but it has the magnitude and impact on two little people that is very important.
